Taller Bombalele

In the East Bay members of Taller Bombalele (bomba community), BAASPR (Bay Area Alliance for Puerto Rico), and La Tertulia Boricua, inter-generational, feminist, women- and queer-led groups who collaborate for cultural, social and political events, came together for solidarity events in support of the Puerto Rican pueblo's movement to oust Ricky Rosselló. There has been a history of these groups and others under the banner of Bay Area Boricuas to mobilize in support of Puerto Rican Political Prisoners like Oscar Lopez and others, and for the fight towards self-determination and a sustainable Puerto Rico by and for the people. These are five photos that show the Bay Area Boricuas and allied community coming together on 7.19.19 in a protest demanding Ricky Rosselló's renuncia in Puerto Rico. We also held a vigil a week later. This protest was organized by Taller Bombalele, BAASPR, La Tertulia Boricua and other community allies.
