On July 19, 2019, various Boricuas in Utah and others in solidarity with Puerto Rico, joined together in Liberty Park to demand the resignation of Ricardo Roselló. The demonstration was organized by Miriam Padilla Vargas, Liliana Rodriguez Muriel, Amy Davila Sanchez, Omar González Nieves, Hector Concepción, and Ramona Tata González. We chanted in unity, encouraged by the power of resistance emanating from our bomba and plena music that was played at the event. It was inspiring to see what a small group of dedicated individuals could accomplish in a short time, overcome by their determination to seek justice.
